Moen jo daro is also spelled as Mohenjodaro is a group of mounds and ruins on the right bank of the  River Indus.It was discovered by Sir John Hubert Marshall in 1922. Moen Jo Daro is covered at 300 hectares.  Moen-jo-daro was contemporary of ancient Egypt, Mesopotamia, Crete, and Norte Chico civilizations.It lies on the flat alluvial plains of the Indus river, about 50 miles (80 km) southwest of Sukkur. This site contains the remains  of one of two main centres of the Ancient Indus Civilization (c. 2500–1700 BCE), On the other side is  Harappa, some 400 miles (640 km) to the northwest in Pakistan’s Punjab province.

Many bronze and copper, gold, iron pieces, such as figurines and bowls, have been recovered from Moen Jo Daro, showing that the inhabitants of this site understood how to utilize the lost wax technique. The furnaces found at the site are believed to have been used for copperworks and melting the metals as opposed to smelting.the city was one of the most important in the Indus Valley Civilization and would have held majority of the trade courses and strength of the Southern Indus Plain between 2600 and 1900 BCE. One might find it difficult to find any palaces or monuments in the area but the city is well known for having historical pieces of gold beads, lapis, carnelian and ivory. All the houses in this site had area for bathing and water-wells were located in multiple spots all across the Moen Jo Daro. It had the most amazed drainage system and many of the modern- day civilizations use the model of Moen jo daro’s drainage system to build new ones
