Why do people want to become lawyers? • What are the potential benefits of becoming a lawyer? • Why I love being a lawyer
Why did you become a lawyer?” How do you answer it?
What will be your response?
Is your response as simple as “I love the law” or “for the wealth.” Or is it a longer, more well-reasoned response?
So what is the best answer to this question “Why do I want to become a Lawyer?” or “Why did I choose legal profession?”
Because:
I possess and convey knowledge of the ability to communicate and negotiate effectively with others.
I welcome the opportunity to face and resolve conflicts. The law never avoids conflictd but always confronts it. “Not everything that is faced can be changed, but nothing can be changed until it is faced.”
I will help people.
Becoming a lawyer means learning how to negotiate with and to manage people. The King's College London Institute says that while 13% of Financial success relates to Technical skills, 87% is based on 3 factors: (1) Personal Self development, (2) Ability to negotiate, (3) Ability to manage people. While many people may consider attorneys to generally have personality issues, the lack thereof may be compensated for with negotiation and people management skills, the other 2 factors that determine financial success.
The law is one of the few professions that provide huge analysis of the important decisions of the past as guides for the important decisions to be made in the present.
Law encourages and promotes discussion and arguements as a way to uncover the truth.
The law allows individuals to engage in some of the most important discussions that society consider such as self-governance, the inherent good of man, and the fair treatment of man.
The world needs great lawyers.
It is a priceless act to be continually presented with opportunities to help people throughout my entire legal career.
A legal career consistently and never fails to present challenges.
I like excitement and challenges that are mentally tough. The law is not for the faint of heart. You must be Strong. Mentally. Emotionally. Intellectually.
I will be surrounded by intelligent, stimulating, and strong-willed individuals.
The law is a story in which we all participate in telling and performing.
Lawyers positively affect every aspect of society.
Without law, our society could not operate properly
People love good lawyers.
The legal profession needs good persons.
I can make a difference.
In those Societies that hate lawyers, or don’t have many lawyers, tend to be totalitarian regimes.
